As the number of battery cycles increases, the rate of battery capacity decay is inconsistent, leading to a serious imbalance in battery voltage. The “battery barrel effect” will influence the service life of your battery. That’s why you need a active balancer for your battery packs.

Different from inductive balancer, capacitive balancer can achieve the whole group balance. It doesn’t need voltage difference between adjacent batteries to start balancing. After the device is activated, each battery voltage will reduce the capacity decay caused by the battery barrel effect and prolong the duration of the problem.

Working principle

The bigger the differential voltage, the bigger the equalization current; and the more balanced the battery, the smaller the working current. This active balancer can reach the maximum equalizing current of 5.5A and the balance voltage accuracy is within 5mV. Meanwhile, it will only release less than 0.1mA current under sleep mode.

With under-voltage sleep protection, the voltage will stop automatically when the voltage is lower than 3.0V for NCM/LFP battery, and 1.8V for LTO battery. The standby power consumption is less than 0.1mA.

Updated Versions

Take the standard 3-4S 5A Balancer (0855A) as example to demonstrate the updated versions of our 5A active balancer. Most of the balancers can be customized. Please contact our sales person for your own application.

0855PH2	PH2.0 connector instead of RUN point, balancer not in work by default. Wires can be connected to a switch or any BMS, so you can control the on and off of this balancer.

For example:

You have 16S LFP/NCM cells, and you want the balancer to stop balancing when cell 1 (the first cell of the first string) is 3.3V; and when it reaches 3.456V, re-start balancing. You can choose our 0999A16D balancer.

It has the same appearance as standard version but changed in chips design.

You have 6S LTO cells, you can choose our 1004C balancer. It’s specially designed for 6S LTO battery.

You have 4S LFP cells and you want to be able to control the on and off of the balancer, you can choose our 0855PH2 balancer. Connect the other end of the additional red wire to a switch or soldered to your BMS, you can turn the balancer on and off without keeping it working all the time.

It is connected directly to the battery and can be used in parallel with any balancer or protection board. It displays the voltage of each string and the total voltage. Regarding accuracy, the typical accuracy is ±5mV at room temperature around 25°C, and the accuracy is ±8mV in the wide temperature range of -20~60°C. The direction of voltage deviation cannot be guaranteed to be consistent.
